a good start

This is a good concept for a game, however I think you've made it way too easy. I expected to be following a long trail of clues and hidden evidence before tranquilising a fierce yeti and hauling it back to the lab, as opposed to it just appearing on the 3rd screen and it being so easy to take a photo of...
It was good that you included 4 different species to find, but it did get very repetitive. They could all be found on the 3rd-4th screen and weren't any challenge to capture. There's also a few spelling and grammar mistakes: the one that made me laugh was that you said the Lock Ness Monster could be Wales... Wales is a country! I can see it out of my window accross the Severn Estuary right now!
Annnyway:
Graphics: From the moment the game loaded up, i thought, "Wow, these graphics are great!" You really managed ot capture the scenery, and the close-up shots of the creatures looked quite good too.
Style: A good and unique idea, but way too easy and repetitive. As i've said, it could have done with having to follow a trail of clues, and taken longer than just 30 seconds...
Sound: Some nice themed music for each area. Maybe have grunting/rusling sounds indicating when you're near the creature? Makes it a little more exciting ;-)
Violence: A few battles to the death with the Yeti would have had me hooked... or at least being able to be hurt by the creatures.
Interactivity: You walk around (really slowly at that) and take a photo by pressing space... needs to be more in-depth with interactive environments and inventories and stuff...
Humour: I found it funny (in a bad way) how the animals were just THERE. Also Nessy looked funny ;-)
Overall: A good start, but could definitely be added to. Make it harder and last longer by setting out trails of clues. Maybe include more monsters such as Ogopogo and the Tasmanian Devil (google them). Your graphics are great. I voted a 3... good luck for the future, and i really hope to be able to play an improved version of this one day!

Pretty dammed funny =)

"Wow, you must watch a lot of porn!"
Heh, thats the best submission i've seen so far today. The bulk of the funnyness was the ponies' response ("you retard!") hilarious. I never thought it would be that hard to tell the difference between a pony name and a pornstar name ^_^
Graphics: Nice and smooth, do the job well. The cuteness makes it even funnier.
Style: Well, it hasnt been done before, as far as i'm aware. A great idea/concept.
Sound: I think i've said enough about the responses =P

Nice one John!

Another brilliant, fast paced, and original game. How do you manage to produce such masterpieces AND work on four second firestorm at the same time?! Annyway:
Graphics: Simple, yet really effective. I love the particle explosion type things, even though they did slow it down a bit (i do realise you can turn them off... but i liked them)
Style: I'm never sure how to mark style. I just mark it on originality and effort. So, top marks for you!
Sound: I cant actually remember that now... give me a sec... aha. Funky music. Could have done with more sound effects for explosions and damage, etc, to polish it off.
Violence: Well, you cant really call it violent when boxes explode =) But it was explodey enough to warrant a decnt violence mark i think =)
Interactivity: Could have done with maybe a difficulty selection, and a variety of weapons. (there may have been more weapons... i died at level 25... so i wouldnt know)
Humour: not relevant
Overall: Great game! I'll play it again when i dont have 5 people trying to talk to me on msn at the same time... oh yeah, i almost forgot, a pause button would be helpful. Good luck with the future! (and with f-s-fs!)

HOT review. Thanks!

Nice little game =)

I couldnt get past level 3 though =( silly me...
Anyway, the actual review:
Graphics: Some OK graphics here, although these didnt look like they were drawn flash... try making them flashier and shinier. Flashy and Shiny is good!
Style: A fairly original game with good gameplay
Sound: Theres just a couple of sounds here; i think you should try a better variety. Also, add some funky techno music (turn offable of course) would help your score alot, methinks.
Violence: Not appropriate...
Interactivity: Well its a game, so i cant really write much for this can i ^_^. Again, try adding some extra sound options. Maybe have a level editor too.
Humour: not appropriate
Overall: A decent game. I voted 4. Hope to see more from you in the future!
Reviewers LOVE author responses!

Hi guys!
Thanks for the valuable feedback and playing my games.
The feedback will allow me to improve and it will be used in version 2.
I have actually a few beta testers for this game and they completed all 24 levels so its possible to complete all the levels.

Thanks again! ;)

...

Well... i generally like webcam games, but i didnt really see any game element to this. It needs to be interactive in some way! I notices there was an activity meter, i thought that this might at least have some kind of effect no the 'poogles'... but after waving my arms around and looking like a twat for 5 minutes...nothing happened... so... BLAM! Sorry!

TRIPLEPOOGLE responds:

No blam point for you :3

Great one!

I love this game! I've been playing it for at least an hour already =)
Most of the games I understood first try, and the ones that i didnt understand, part of the fun was playing them again to try and figure it out. The graphics in the transitions and interface were smoth and sexy, however i think some of the submissions could have had more time put into the graphics. A few of them were also pretty much the same... but hey, its a collab, so there's going ot be a few repeats. As for the sound, I think the fast paced exiting music really suited the fast-and-furious style gameplay. The instructions for each game may have been vague, but part of the fun is working out what to do! Some of the games did seem impossible within the time limit though, such as the code-typing one and the one with the sun cream.
Overall, this is a brilliant collab/game, and i hope to be seeing the next edition (four second thunder?) soon! I'll definitely want to be a part of it!

wow!

This is a BRILLIANT idea! You absolutely MUST do more webcam games, they're so fun and cute :p
plus they make me look like an idiot
Anyway, just one thing I would suggest is that you have an option to mirror the image, because my webcam doesnt mirror me, so i need to reach left to hit a bunny on the right. But otherwise great work! I hope this recieves some exposure

Nice quiz

I got 8 out of 15 first time. Nice to see a quiz which counts your score and doesnt send you back to the start. I liked how you covered a variety of different animations and not just the same type over and over. Although, I have a couple of suggestions:
-instead of waiting until the end to see if you got them right, have it so that you see the answer after each question
-music and sound... and i do realise you mentioned it but i'm saying it anyway ^_^
-maybe instead of having the same questions each time, you program in say, 100 questions, and it picks a random selection of 15, or whatever. That way replay value increases by like 1000%, and you dont have people just going through and memorising the answers to get 15 out of 15
-it would be nice to have more information about each of the movies after you answer the question about them, e.g how popular they are/were, who made it, a link to it etc.
-another idea for making the whole thing more interesting is that you could ask the animators of the respective cartoons if they would mind you borrowing say a 20 second clip of their animation, then you could ask questions about it. It would be better for people who havent been at newgrounds for as long and havent seen as many of them.

Hope to see more from you in the future ^_^ good luck

LuckyLollipopLad responds:

Glad you liked it!

And one idiot was saying it's broken since you progress with a wrong answer... heh.

Thanks for the feedback and really thorough review.

1 - You can see if you got each question right. Check the text under the level icon (and the icon itself) which change after a correct answer. Still, yeah, you don't know the correct answer...

2 - will do

3 - After you suggested this, I had a think. I even programed something to work out how many questions I might need.

It's something I might look into, though at a later date. With options for different game lengths. It's certainly something that'd take like 10 times as long...

Anyway unless I had thousands of questions, folk'd still be able to memorise them, I reckon.

4 - will do.

5 - This really isn't possible. Firstly, I doubt a lot of folk would want to give me their stuff. Secondly, I use an old version of Flash. Lastly, some authors aren't around anymore.

It's similar to an idea I was thinking of a while ago though, and you may see that sometime in the distant future...

Totally different quiztype though.

Thanks again for all the excellent feedback. Been a joy reading the review.

Stay funky!

It was a good concept, but...:

You've clearly tried hard on this, for which I am grateful. But there are a few things you could improve:
Photo Section: Maybe have some funny images, in order to boost 'humor' points. Try using your own art too, it will be appreciated.
Music section: There needs to be a stop button for the music, because when I tried to play the second tune, I had them both playing at once which was a bit awkward... ( on(release){stopAllSounds();} ) Also, have some full length tunes, something funky which you can have in the background.
Video section: Genius! I've seen this before, but it was still a good idea.
Game section: Instead of just having a video of GTA:LCS, you could try making your own flash game. Its always better to have an actually playable game :p Also, i can tell that this video made the file size go up loads, all the better reason to do your own game.
Internet Browser: Goes onto the newground page, which is good i guess, but you should make this section a little more interactive: e.g be able to visit pre-set pages
Overall: Try drawing your own graphics instead of using pics. I always think peoples own graphics makes the thing look a lot nicer and more professional. Also, make it so that you can actually click on the buttons instead of using space and the arrow keys. Also consider expanding the functionaltiy and playability. Try and pick out a few of the psp's bad point too. (i wouldnt know what these are, i'm a DS guy :p )
Anyway, good try. Hope this helps. I expect great things in the future.

Zestos responds:

Definately the best advice so far in helping me to develop this. Thanks. Ur ideas r much appreciated and will be used.

:-)

Such a simple game, but so addictive. Maybe add better graphics and sounds? good luck, keep up the good work :-)
