I honestly struggle to see the point in this game - it's unoriginal, the graphics are all blocky, and the background, while it may be pretty, distracts from the game. I know you were experimenting with bitmapData which is all fine and good, but it seems that you could have done something more impressive than just simplifying Ellipsis. On the positive side, I can see the attraction of playing for just a small amount of time and then trying to beat your score. Easy to pick up, but difficult to master kind-of-thing.
Out of your 40+ games this is probably the first one I didn't like much... sorry to have to lower your review average!

It's a fun, original idea let down by a few major glitches - after a few days, whatever I said to him, he would say "undefined" back, and the prison shop was empty. But the graphics are great and there's lots to do. 3/5. Would be 5/5 if it wasn't for the glitches.

This was very smoothly animated, however it was too simple and short for my liking.

I like cats. I've yet to see a bad game which features cats. While the gameplay concept wasn't original, I liked the quirky idea of shooting toys off of a sleeping cat with a watergun. I didn't like the traced images - the original photo's would have looked better in my opinion. I also found the frame rate to be a bit low, to the point where my brief clicks weren't registering. The difficulty curve seems to be well-balanced, and I liked how the game didn't start over when you failed a level. The addition of a highscore board would have increased the replayability for me.
Interesting sidenote - this game only uses the mouse so I can play it on my Wii :) Could be s light problem with the targets being so small though.
Overall, good job let down by bad graphics and slow framerate. Nothing that an hour or two of extra work couldn't fix :)

I was wondering when you'd get this out, and playing it again brought a smile to my face, even though it's 1am and my feet are sore and I have a headache. The controls are very simple and intuitive, but highly effective. The graphics were also fairly simple yet effective, which is probably good considering how much it lags when there are 200+ ninjas on screen. I love the dynamic background and the screams of the ninjas. It is very well programmed - I didn't find any glitches. My only complaint is that there are no highscore boards, so I can't tell if I'm good or bad.
Great game :)
P.s. Is this supposed to be an "evaluation version"?
Author's Response:
Ya, I believe the scoreboards would work on the Hallpass site, but I'm not totally sure on that, as it's not my thing to do (because I have no idea how to do it).
Also, it's not an evaluation version, but apparently it wasn't taken out with the updated version =P
Glad you liked it.

As stubborn as I am, I have to say this is definately a worthy competitor to the game I'm working on for the contest. The gameplay was varied and interesting, if not a little slow, and the enemy-capturing animation made me laugh. It'll challenge kids to think. :) Good work.
Author's Response:
Well, I should certainly hope it's a stiff competitor! :) I also do realize that it can lag somewhat at times... the graphics are what are doing it, and having so many on-screen. One of the slight problems with an 800 X 600 size requirement, and trying to pack enough into each part of the levels to keep 'em interesting. To my surprise, many of the serious coding-milestones (like adding the enemies) didn't cause any noticeable extra lag. Granted, the enemies don't do much, but there are consistent hits tests and what-not going on once you get a certain distance from them.
Thanks again, and good luck to you!

You used my cloud sig without my permission, I sue you for 7 internets. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 internets.
Seriously though, really fun animation :) I like the easter egg, and good use of the comic-cam luis image.

I liked the lyrics and how it had so many different words the rhymed, however, the audio quality was kind of bad. The animations/illustrations were OK, but could be improved.

That video left me slightly creeped, it seemed very dark and sinister. That normally wouldn't be a good thing for me, but it worked well in this. The images seemed a bit blurry and low-res at times, but I suppose it's better than having a huge filesize. I liked this 'silent movie' style, although the music got a little annoying; more appropriate orchestra style music could have done the job better in my opinion. The plot and characters were imaginative and the ending made me chuckle. Overall a nice movie, but a little short and maybe too creepy seeming.
Author's Response:
Yes, i wanted grander music but i needed something composed especially for the film and my music guy told me it would be a bit tricky to do this. In my animatic versions i used Rakmaninov (sorry spelling...!!)Sorry if it creeped you out! ~Lizz
